Arby's Data Breach 2017/02/13
It was recently discovered that Arby's restaurants were the victim of hacking via malware which infected its POS systems (cash registers and card machines), resulting in customers' credit and debit card information being stolen. Although Arby's has not made a public announcement of the breach, it did disclose the breach to federal authorities. In the disclosure, Arby's stated that the malware affected 3,330 of it's company stores between October, 2016 and January, 2017, and that no franschise stores were affected.
If you used your cards at an Arby's restaurant during the time of the breach, please monitor your accounts carefully, and frequently for any suspicious activity, and report it to the credit union immediately. As always, our fraud department will also be looking at those cards that may have been affected, and will take proactive steps when necessary (we will notify you if a new card must be issued).
This page will be updated if/when Arby's makes a public announcement regarding the breach.
